Weirs to Beers: Ossining & The Aqueduct

Weirs to Beers: Ossining & The Aqueduct

Friday, April 9, 2021 - 1:00pm

We start and end in urban parks – but in-between expect Sing Sing village tales, close Hudson River views from Crawbuckie Nature Preserve, a stroll through the rocky gorge of Sing Sing Kill, a hidden museum and last, a neat microbrewery … all near or right on the Aqueduct Trail. The taproom is open to us after the walk with indoor and outdoor seating. If you’ve seen BlackkKlansman, you know this turf! It was filmed below the double arch bridge.

This outing is for people who walk fairly regularly. Some hills, 3.5 miles, 3 hours (excluding brews). Wear hiking boots, bring water. There may be no bathrooms except at brewery.

Meet inside Nelson Park, which borders Route 9/Broadway (aka S Highland Avenue). Park free along nearby residential streets. We assemble near the war monuments. From the Metro-North Hudson Line Ossining Train Station, it is a 1-mile, somewhat uphill walk to the park.
