Approximately 4 miles, 3 hours

These walks are a continuation of our very popular 26 Mile Challenge and are geared for people who want to earn their 41-Mile Patch and Certificate. For these walks, we will cover the 15 miles from the northern border of the Bronx to 42nd Street and Fifth Ave. in 3 segments. If you have already completed the 26 miles of the OCA in Westchester, at the end of these walks you will be eligible for the 41-Mile Patch and Certificate awarded by The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct. If you are aiming for your patch, please sign up for all 3 walks as they are published on the website to avoid disappointment.

Walks will be held on alternating Sundays as follows: 9/22, 10/6 and 10/20. In the event of inclement weather, alternate dates will be offered.

Walk 1 details: We will walk from the northern end of Van Cortlandt Park to Fordham Road stopping at the Jerome Park Reservoir. Meet at Lawton Street. and the Old Croton Aqueduct in Yonkers (GPS coordinates 40°54'37.0"N 73°52'52.8"W). Street parking available.
Public transportation: W4 and W20 bus to McLean Ave. Bathrooms available along the route. Return via IRT #4 to Woodlawn and W4 bus to McLean Ave.
Important Note: These are one-way walks. Plan accordingly if you will need to return to your starting point.
