Dobbs Ferry Parents Meet on Aqueduct for Family Meander

| JoannaRiesman

Remember helicopter seeds, nose cones, samaras? Those wing nut-shaped tree seeds are all over the trail in May. Fourteen parents and young children strolled through downtown Dobbs Ferry on an easy walk focused on Spring, outdoor fun and easy socializing. The kids loved finding flowers, leaf shapes and nuts, and their parents loved connecting. It was hard to get a word in edgewise!

Educator Meredith Hill-Patel and Lesley Y Walter co-lead the walk. The parents, who call Dobbs Ferry home, came from Texas, Massachusetts, Nanjing, Brooklyn and parts in-between. Village local history was highlighted, and lively talk about creating a band, a puppet show, a garden and pickup basketball games ensued.

The Friends will hold another Parent Walk in the Fall.
