Retracing the Capture of Revolutionary War British Spy Major Andre

Meet at the NE-most parking lot at Sleepy Hollow High School, 210 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 (from Metro-North Tarrytown Train Station by taxi or uphill walk, 0.8 miles/6 or 15 minutes, respectively).   

Retrace the steps of the capture of Revolutionary War spy Major John Andre.   Sara Mascia, Major Andre scholar and Executive Director of The Historical Society of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown, will relay information about this moment in history, which played a crucial role in the American victory.   View the monument to the captors of Andre at Patriots Park.  Walk south along the Old Croton Aqueduct and hear the history of the Aqueduct that brought water to a thirsty NYC in 1842.   We will also stop at the Historical Society for a short visit the museum to see artifacts relating to the Capture of Andre and then return to the starting point of the walk.
