The Yonkers Green Policy Task Force awarded Aquefest Producer, Eileen Charles a Greenie Award at the their 3rd Annual Greenie Award Night at the Beczak Environmental Center on June 1st. The “Greenies” are a mock Oscar green tie/green carpet event honoring those who live or work in Yonkers and who make an effort to preserve the environment.

Aquefest won for including Yonkers in the trail-long celebration of the Old Croton Aqueduct by forming a Yonkers committee and inviting the environmental education group Bash the Trash to perform on the trail. Here, Eileen shares the award with her Yonkers committee and Friends Members.

Eileen thanks everyone who helps make Aquefest happen! Save the date: Aquefest 2011 is October 15 & 16!
