Van Cortlandt Park trail walk, including the OCA

Free, easy, open-air loop walk. Meet us where we begin (and end) the walk: at the outdoor access bathrooms at the historic 1902 Van Cortlandt Park public golf clubhouse by Van Cortlandt lake. Moderate walk, approximately 6 miles (4-mile only bail-out option available), can be muddy; portions on the John Muir Trail will be hilly. Please bring food & water. History, birds, botany, and beauty may be anticipated. Required: pre-registration (limited number); bring masks; and social distancing.

Walk will be rescheduled if weather does not cooperate.

You can get there in either of two ways: Take the local No. 1, IRT, to the last stop in the Bronx, 242nd St. and walk directly east from Broadway to the park and continue to the golf clubhouse OR park at the first parking lot (free) of the Van Cortlandt Park golf course and walk north to the clubhouse.
