Invasive Strike Force Volunteer Day
Remove invasive plants under leadership of Invasives Strike Force Conservation Crew.
Join our continuing efforts to remove invasive plants from the Old Croton Aqueduct trail in Cortlandt and Ossining. The volunteer day is hosted by the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct with support from Parks & Trails NY, and led by the NY-NJ Trail Conference’s Invasives Strike Force Conservation Crew. NYS Parks’ Croton Aqueduct crew will also participate.
Work alongside the experts and learn as you go.
Adults, teens and supervised children are welcome. Snacks, water, tools and gloves will be provided. Bring your own lunch please. Sturdy shoes, a long sleeved shirt, long pants and a hat are recommended.
Entrance to “Croton Gorge Unique Area” on the Old Croton Aqueduct just north of 124 Quaker Bridge Road, Croton-on-Hudson 10520. Special on-road parking for volunteers available between 124 and 99 Quaker Bridge Road.
Please register in advance (https://ptny.wufoo.com/forms/invasives-strike-force-volunteer-day/) if you wish to participate on June 18. While advanced registration is encouraged for planning purposes, onsite registration will be available day of event.
Rain date is Sunday, June 19. Check here the evening of June 17 or early morning June 18 to find out if the event has been postponed to the following day.
