Join NYC Parks and partners, and get to know your resilient 450-million-year-old neighbors: the rocks of Highbridge Park. Discover their unique geology, make art and celebrate the park’s adventurous assets. Watch climbing demonstrations by REI and then try bouldering yourself! Learn about Highbridge's invaluable role of bringing clean drinking water to NYC from Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct. Join interactive geology activities with the Urban Park Rangers and Word Up Community Bookstore, make rock rubbings with Creative Art Works, or create your own masterpiece with Sugar Hill Children’s Museum! Travel back in time with Hike the Heights, hear music from Washington Heights' very own band Atiyya Featuring Turiya, get on a bike from BikeRentNYC and purchase a lunch of Belgian Waffles from the world-famous Wafels’n’Dinges food truck. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org / (212) 795-1388. Spread the word, flyer attached.
The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct will have a table at the event.
