Walk 1 of the Great 26 Mile Challenge is the first of 4 walks designed for those who want to walk the entire 26 miles of the Old Croton Aqueduct in Westchester. The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct awards a Patch and a Certificate to anyone who completes the 26 miles of the trail. This walk covers the segment of the OCA trail from the Croton Dam to Scarborough.
The Details: Terrain will be mostly level with some slight hills; there will be roots and rocks – please wear appropriate footwear. Bring lunch, snacks and water – there will be rest stops along the way. Rest rooms are at the beginning of the walk.
Important Note: These are one-way walks. Plan accordingly if you will need to return to your starting point. Metro-North is available near the start and end of the walk.
Meet at Croton Gorge Park Parking Lot, near the Restrooms

Metro-North Croton-Harmon station is a15 minute taxi ride to Croton Gorge Park. Walk will end at Metro-North Scarborough Train Station. Meter parking and paid parking lot available.
