The Great 26 Mile Challenge – Walk 2 of 5: Ossining to Tarrytown

Walk #2 of the Great 26 Mile Challenge (see Walk #1 for full description) is a continuation of a 5-walk series designed for those who want to walk the entire 26 miles of the Old Croton Aqueduct (OCA) in Westchester. The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct awards a Patch and a Certificate to anyone who completes the 26 miles of the trail. This walk covers the segment of the OCA trail from Ossining to Tarrytown. Future walks will be held on the following Sundays: 6/15, 6/22 and 7/13. 

The Details: Terrain will be mostly level with some moderate elevation changes, there will be roots and rocks; please wear appropriate footwear. Please bring lunch, snacks and water – there will be rest stops along the way. Please use the rest room before the walk as rest rooms may not be available along the route. Important Note: This is a one-way walk. Plan accordingly if you will need to return to your starting point. 

Meet at the corner of Spring St. and Everett Ave., Ossining 10562
Street parking available. Metro-North in Ossining – taxi or 20 minute walk
Walk will end at McKeel Ave. and the Aqueduct, Tarrytown 10591
Municipal parking at McKeel Avenue and the Aqueduct.
Metro-North to Tarrytown – 20 minute walk
Restrooms: Please use restroom before walk as there may be no restrooms along the route.
Required: Pre-registration. Will reschedule in the event of rain.
