A Case of New Graffiti on the Aqueduct Trail — Game Over?

Decades of graffiti on the sturdy marble #19 ventilator was just scrubbed away last summer. But look again! A battleline has appeared on this antique structure at Odell Ave in North Yonkers. Many of you are still giving generously to Help Us Clean Up Our Act with a promise to blot out graffiiti permanently. Is the war lost so soon?
The answer is No but…. in winter it takes time to erase new graffiti. Temperatures must be above 40’F for several days in order for the scrubbing process to work. The State Parks crew is watching the weather forecast and keeping eyes peeled for new signs of vandalism. Alert trail users can help too, by sending a note to OCATrailTips@parks.ny.gov. Meanwhile our promise holds and let us all pray for Spring weather!
