This year, in anticipation of a gala ground breaking for the reconstruction work on the Keeper’s House in Spring 2014, the Friends are saving energy and funds for that important event. Aquefest often loses money for us unless we get a grant, and much as we all love the fun , we have to be sensible. And the big news that work on the Keeper’s House will soon begin demands we plan for a big event!

In July, 2013, the Friends hosted a Double Celebration and ribbon cutting for the huge project of saving the Double Arch Bridge section of the Aqueduct, Maybe you were there for the music, the food, the speeches and sharing some double-arch cake and a Croton cocktail.

This month, we invite all to share our participation in the Ferry Festa in Dobbs Ferry, October 5, from noon on and the Tarrytown Eco Faair, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Patriot’s Park, Tarrytown. Both will be fun and both will celebrate the Aqueduct’s 171 st birthday. Officially in October 14. Raise a Croton Cocktail ( croton water with a splash of lemon ) to the Croton Aqueduct at these two festive events.
